3 Ladies with 14 children in Santa Cruz

My good friends, Jill, Jeanni and I, decided to take our troops camping in the Santa Cruz mountains. We looked like quite a site pulling up with all our kids, 14 in all. The camp host was especially impressed that Jeanni backed in a 30 foot trailer.

The boys enjoyed making forts in the forest just behind our camp site. Logan and Jacob even roasted banana slugs in their fort. Their scout leaders would have been very proud of them.

Jill paid Dallin $5.00 to lick a banana slug. She also offered $100.00 if anyone would eat it. Everyone declined. We later learned that banana slugs can make people sick. I'm glad to report that Dallin is healthy as ever!

One day was spent playing at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. The kids had a blast riding the rides and eating junk food. :)

The kids enjoyed riding scooters around the campsite. We did have to deal with several wipe outs. Weston was especially fast down the hills.

Jeanni and I played a lot of Phase 10. She beat me every time!

Summer Fun at Don Pedro

The Gang!

The first week after school got out, our family headed off to Don Pedro Lake for some summer fun. We camped and boated. Highlights included our good friends, the Lima family, joined us for a day, the beehives came up for tubing fun, watching Landon jump off the platform and swim in the lake, Ashlyn wakeboarding, and having the Lake virtually to ourselves. One other fun note, the kids caught a frog and brought it home as the newest pet in our family. It jumped out of Ashlyn's hand while she was in the boys room and thankfully, after an hour, the kids finally found him.

Taylor Ann's 8th Grade Graduation

Congratulations Taylor Ann

Class of 2009!!!

Taylor Ann recently graduated (promoted as they call it) from Dutcher Middle School. She was chosen to give the speech at graduation to introduce the theme "Our Time To Shine". She did a great job! She also was one of eight students who was recognized for receiving a 4.0 for both years at Dutcher. She is a wonderful daughter and example to her younger brothers and sister. Way To Go, Taylor Ann.
